Since 2018, Roots KC has served over 400 young people in Kansas City's most underserved neighborhoods — providing consistent adult mentors, free meals, and after-school support that keeps kids safe, engaged, and on track.
Three ways we show up for KC youth
After-School Academy
Homework help, tutoring, and academic mentorship in a safe, structured environment.
Saturday Kitchen
Free meals and cooking skills. Kids learn to prepare real food while connecting with volunteers.
Mentor Match
We pair young people with vetted adult mentors for a 6-month minimum relationship.

Become a Mentor
Commit to 4 hours per month for a minimum of 6 months. Background check required. Full training provided. You bring consistency — we handle everything else.
